23. SILVER COIN

  23.  SILVER COIN Gold coins can cure all blind men Ring, wrist-let, chain and crown Shining us as the Sun and Moon Bringing us both fate and fortune Smiles and Walks bear its proud Dreams to buy and build on any land The pouch is filled with silver coins Twinkling like stars on bright nights Plates, Spoons, Knives and Forks Watches, buttons, Pens and Boxes Arises like a silver-line through twilight Hopes and dreams to live without debt Hunch, sadness and a sigh at a daily bite Fate is like the darkest new moon night Reed mat, coconut cup and rusty plate Sky shelter and earth hut are his right Rough hands, rugged clothes and pale eyes Silver coins tinkled for the poor human beings By : Upul Kumarasinghe Silva

22. SIGH

  22. SIGH BREATH, fast, deep into the heart Making long bubbing in the lungs Hot emotions narrow the vessels Cold emotions broadened the vessels Mixing the breath with the emotions Changing in high and low heartbeats Excitement, Love and Happiness Fear, hate and sadness Pleasurable and desirable sensations Unpleasant and undesirable emotions Growing up with peace, creating new ideas Drawing out cruelty and bad feelings Do I struggle in unknown territories? How can I forget all the sorrows? Can I sing a song without endings? Or, can I write a book of poems? If I know, it could happen overnights BREATH, fast, deep into the heart By : Upul Kumarasinghe Silva

21. HALF OF LIFE

 21. HALF OF LIFE Half of our lives are spent in slumber Half dead body on a bed of a room Dive into dreams and live in castles Never die, never get old or never change The blood drops and sings in the ear The sun arises when you get down from bed The purpose of our life from birth to death The dreams that built in our half of life Wearness finds its results in success The faith decays in everyone's graveyard Who seeks to pass more over and over Half of our lives are lost in the darkness The ambitions we built are to be more than strength Happiness is seeked not in our belongings When eyes and ears were covered tight My breath was choked, and my blood was cold Dreams fly seeking blood cells and hopes Soon, forget your eyelids to keep closed at night By : Upul Kumarasinghe Silva

20. PUPPET

20. PUPPET Once upon a time, there lived a puppet Made with wood, controlled with strings Dance to others' tunes, never smiles at any ones He revealed a story to us, about his dreams and ambitions From morning to evening, busy life for dreams Act play on the life stage, Yes boss and No boss A journey from office to home, home to office...
